Letter to women voters

Oct 29th, 2008 | By admin | Category: Campaign News

My name is Carol Scott and I am writing as a neighbor, wife and mother to ask you to vote for my husband, Darryl Scott on Tuesday, November 4th as our State Representative. Even though he has been out campaigning in your neighborhoods, I wanted to share why I believe he is the best person for the job.

Carol Scott and family

To begin with, Darryl is an excellent husband and father. We have been married for twenty-four years, so I know that he understands both the value of family and the responsibilities that go with it. He wants the same for our two boys as you want for your families: affordable healthcare, a world-class education and good jobs that will allow them to stay in the area and some day raise their own families in Dover.

Many people have said that Darryl is unique in his approach to people. When he asks what your concerns in the district are, he actually takes the time to listen. We have had many nights when he has come home tired, but eager to share the stories of the people he has met while he was out campaigning that day. He tells me about the single mom who isn’t sure how she’s going to make ends meet, the elderly woman who reminded him of his mother and is having trouble living on a fixed income and the mother who lost her job and isn’t sure if she can make her mortgage payment.

He is very passionate about helping people and, as a Capital School Board member, understands the responsibility of elected officials to serve the public not special interest groups. In today’s society where skepticism reigns, Darryl has hope for the future and the commitment and experience needed to make real changes in Dover. We need more people like my husband in elected office and you can take a step in the right direction by joining me and casting your vote for Darryl on Tuesday, November 4th.

Sincerely,

Carol Scott sig
